With five well received, Independently released albums, award-winning songwriter... neil bradley owen, or “blue” as many of his close friends call him, seems to be making headway in the Singer-Songwriter world. A genuine, heartfelt, bluesy, singer/songwriter of the first degree, Neil’s songs prove to be instantly memorable, with melodies and lyrics that speak to the soul......just picture if you will, a bunch of folks with guitars, upright bass, harmonica, and anything else anyone can shake or beat, sitting around on an old, wooden, rustic front porch, playing and singing songs about what makes life worth living. Music that just makes you feel good. Bluesy, acoustic soul/folk with that ever present earthy undertone, of those warm acoustic instruments... that's Neil Bradley Owen music. Neil is the recent winner of the 15th Annual Telluride Blues Festival's- 2008 Solo Acoustic Blue's Competition. This prestigious award places him in the big leagues when it comes to shouting the Blues. neil bradley owen, put out his first album in the early 90's, called "Just Blue." Neil and "Just Blue" got some limited radio play in the Northeast United States where he was living at the time. After a move to Phoenix, songwriting began in earnest again, with a new emphasis on acoustic instruments and a bluesy soul/folk type of groove. Think Muddy Waters meets Van Morrison... After a stint with the acoustic trio "The Bums" neil began focusing on Songwriting and Solo Blues. Neil has just released 2 new albums (October of 2012) 1- "Another Time, Another Face" which is a Covers album which includes 13 new recordings of great songs from the late 60s and early 70s. 2- "Finding My Way..." is a new originals album which has 12 new NBO songs as well as a very cool new cover of Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love". Says neil- "all 26 new recordings have a very cool acoustic layered feel which I just love..." These 2 new albums further define what has become a very distinctive eclectic style for neil. Says neil- "I love the instrument and vocal tones we were able to develop in these new tunes. There is blues of course... but some of these new tracks have elements of folk, bluegrass, gospel, and pop. Produced by Neil, producer/player Ryan Tilby, and producer/player John Houston, you won't want to miss these new eclectic independent releases.
